Capel

photos_medium_16Capel, a town in Capel Shire, lies between Bunbury and Busselton. It is approximately 210 km from Perth. In the past Capel, which is situated on the Capel River, was mainly a farming region, but currently, the farming community has expanded to other agricultural pursuits that includes blue gum trees, aquatic plants and numerous hobby farms that are not necessarily sources of income for the owners. Mineral sands are also mined in the area. The Bussell family, whose name was given to Busselton, gave Capel its name as a tribute to a cousin named Capel Carter.

Many families are descendants of original settlers who arrived in Capel in the 1830s. However, career opportunities are enticing new residents to consider real estate in Capel with its many attractions. House prices vary, but depending on buyers’ needs, they are in the region of $250,000 and $500,000.
